ASTM D3273 Antimicrobial Test / Antimicrobial Testing Services
Standard Antimicrobial Testing Method (ASTM D 3273) for Resistance to mold on the surface of interior coatings in an environmental chamber
This antimicrobial testing method (ASTM D3273) describes a small environmental chamber and the conditions of operation to evaluate reproducibly in a four (4) week period, the relative resistance of paint films to surface mold, fungi, mildew growth in a severe interior environment.
ASTM D3273
This test method encompasses a four week period of evaluation of the resistance of paint films to surface mold fungi. Throughout the testing process and analysis of results, a comparison evaluation is constructed in reference to the resistance of the interior coatings (paint films, etc.) to accelerated growth of mildew. Temperature and humidity are controlled within narrow limits, which is necessary in order for the test panels to develop quickly and maintain certain moisture levels that support the growth of mold.
